Tienie’s studio is situated in the countryside of the Schurveberg area near Hartebeespoort. He works here according to a six- days- a- week and nine- to -six schedule. He does all the modeling in clay, casting in plaster of Paris and polishing of the bronze with the help of a single assistant. The only phase of his work that he does not handle personally is the casting in bronze process. His studio is representative of a body of work that spans a lifetime, because of every work he ever executed, a plaster of Paris cast remains in his studio.
